The one of a kind flow-through construction of the 0.56 mm gap has a volume capacity from 10 to 85 μl. This design provides the unique combination of small sample volumes with field strengths as high as 40kV/cm. The Flatpack Chamber 1.83 mm has a three-ply solid sandwich construction of stainless steel and mylar plastic holds a volume of 1.5 ml, ideal for stems cells. Flatpack chambers are gamma sterilized in individual packages. They are provided in sets of 50 and may be used in the Safety Stand.

The 1.5ml flatpack chamber has been an excellent tool for generation of 10 billion clone order libraries in my lab. Without this device for efficient large scale electroporation of E.coli, I cannot imagine how we could have done this. Typically 1 billion clones are obtained daily from electroporation of 10ml of home made competent cells. It is a simple but valuable component of our lab.
